The weather was good so we headed to the beach today. It was about 70 degrees with no wind so perfect weather for some time in the sun! We are trying to enjoy this last bit of summer!

Weekend at the Island

I went up to Orcas on Friday morning. It was a beautiful day so I mowed the lawn and played with the boys on the beach. We picked Drew up in the evening. The next morning David and Nicole were coming up to visit us for a night so we got ready and went to start the Island Van (an old '86 Astro) and she wasn't running too good. Drew knew the alternator was going out so we made a very fast trip to the ferry, and we were very lucky we made it. We picked them up then went looking for a part for the van. Of course, on the island it would take about 4 days to get the part so we headed back to the cabin knowing that the van wouldn't start again. We were so disappointed because Dave and Nicole had never been on Orcas and we wanted to show them around! Well, we decided to walk to town so at least they could see that part of the Orcas. So that was fun and we definitely got our exercise-6 miles RT. When we got back we had some lunch and Drew decided he would ask our neighbors Mike and Mary if she was going to town could she buy us some ice cream? Well, she said "why don't you take our van?" so we got to use their van the rest of the day! We headed up to Cascade Lake and did a little hiking. So again, more exercise! Then we made a wonderful meal and we put the kids to bed early. We were tired too but we stayed up visiting until late. It ended up being a really fun weekend. The weather wasn't great, but we made the most of it! Yesterday as we were leaving we tried starting up Old blue but no luck. So we used our neighbors van to get to the ferry and Drew is going to go back up tomorrow night and get the van fixed. All and all it turned out fun.

Wonderful days and Landon is 5!

We had such great days at Milltown. It is hard to believe another year has passed. Words cannot express how grateful we are. Last night I asked Cohen and Lachlan "the weather looks good for tomorrow what do you want to do?" and Cohen responded "Go to convention!" Very cute. They enjoyed it so much too.
Our nephew Landon is 5! Way to go Landon. He had quite a party yesterday. Here are some of the pictures.
They have new baby chickens which the kids just love!

Feeling better...I think!

The last 4 days have been very unpredictable! We missed Milltown Wednesday night because both the boys had fevers. Thursday they were both feeling good so off we went. By evening, Lachlan had the fever again so we went home. Friday Lachlan said he was fine and Cohen was great. Lachlan said his head hurt but that was all. Well halfway through the first meeting it was clear that Lach wasn't feeling well. Drew took him home with 104 temp. When they picked me up at Milltown Lachlan said he had a sore throat. So we took him to the clinic because I was worried about strep. Well, no strep just 104 temp. So..home we went, got a good nights sleep. The next morning (Saturday) everyone was well so off we went again! Saturday was wonderful and we were able to stay the whole day! Then Sunday arrived. Everyone was well again...the illness had clearly passed. We dressed in our best and out the door we went. Halfway through morning meeting Cohen gets SICK! At this point, I just can't believe it. He is green and I thought he was going to start vomitting. Well, right after meeting we head home again. Lachlan stayed with my parents. We got home and he had a high fever and just went to bed. He slept most of the day and all the night and today he looks great-no fever and is happy. I can tell you one thing though I am not holding my breath! My kids are rarely sick so this week has been difficult and not much fun not to mention stressful! I am hoping by Thursday we can get up to Milltown again and I can be more relaxed! Always interesting with kids!
Do these kiddos look sick? These pictures I took this morning...happy as clams!

A day in the life...

Today was just busy getting ready for Milltown. The morning was full of my daily walk, errands, lunch etc. I got a few snaps of the kiddos. Lachlan has a new kitty who just showed up here last week. He absolutely loves her to pieces! Carries her everywhere, worries about her and chases her. She is very sweet and great with the kids. Now I just have to get her shots! While Lach was chasing Rondi (kitty's name) Cohen was playing with his barn very quietly and nicely so I snapped a photo.

Then after a 2 hour nap Cohen woke up. I noticed he felt very warm...guess what 102 fever! I'm sure he will be fine tomorrow, but I am just hoping our Milltown time is going to be had! Tonight I shouldn't have given him dinner after 3 bites it all came back up. The picture below sums up what he has been doing since 3 o'clock and how he is feeling. Poor little guy.

Hannah is 9 and Mom is ?

Birthdays are frequent in this family! Hannah just celebrated her 9th birthday and Mom celebrated her ? lets just say she gets Social Security this year (don't spend it all at once Mom)! It was a fun little gathering at our house to celebrate.
