Halloween fun

Today we had a fall fun day at school. Cohen and I spent the morning in Lachlan's class helping. They made harvest soup, which was both good and fun. Donna came to visit us a couple times too. Then we visited Ma and Papa for some trick-or-treating, and we will head to Great Grandma and Grandpa's and Grandma and Grandpa's this afternoon. After that, there is a costume parade in Sedro Woolley, and then we will trick-or-treat in town and then come home for meeting! Here are some pictures of our little goblins.

Getting big!

Well today marks the start of my 8th month of pregnancy. I really can't believe that the baby SHOULD be here in less than 2 months. Everything is going well, and he is very active. So far he is measuring right on, and I see my midwife on Tuesday for another measurement. I will have to be careful about my carb intake until the end, but she has told me to eat as much fat as I would like because I haven't gained much. These pictures were taken a few days ago. The funny one is of my shadow. I was out for my walk and was cracking up about my profile.

Other news: Drew has decided to do all the clearing himself. So Monday he is off and if we can get an excavator to rent he will start clearing because the weather looks like it might be nice. We are both excited to get this project done. It looks like it will probably take every weekend until the baby is born (and probably more time). It is such a muddy mess outside we are anxious to get it all cleaned up and new gravel in the driveway.

The boys are doing well. They are very excited about Halloween. Tonight is Pizza and Pumpkin night at school so we are going to do that. They get to dress up in their costumes. Lachlan lost his 2nd tooth Wednesday and looks like a little pumpkin himself! Cohen and I have been enjoying our mornings together so much!

I've been getting the baby's room all ready. I painted all the woodwork and now I just need to get Drew to put it up. I painted the letters of his name that will go over his crib (nope were not telling). I am getting excited to meet this little guy!

Have a great weekend!

Toothless in Sedro!

Lach lost his first tooth the other day...the one next to it is just about to come out. As you can see the "big" teeth have already come in! I can't believe he is getting so big!

Thanks Everyone!

Brian hard at work!

Drew and Terry splitting wood

Mark stacking.

Nicole and David stayed for dinner...here the boys are mauling her!

On Saturday Drew had a ton of help cutting and splitting wood. Brian and Mark, Terry, David and Dad all came to help. Drew rented a splitter and they got about 8-10 cord of wood cut! Thank you everyone for all your help...it was such a big relief for Drew! Thanks Nicole for going shopping with me!

Staying sane...

Okay, the rain has been falling for a few days now and the ten-day forecast says it will continue. So...how does one stay sane with two energetic boys in the house and not enough projects to keep them busy? This picture says it all...

This tea is great and does have a tendency to calm me (doesn't all tea?). It wouldn't be so bad if I didn't have an awful cold. When you are feeling a little yucky it is really hard to feel too motivated. The boys, on the other hand, had this last week and Cohen had an ear burst...poor little guy...off we go to get tubes again.

The boys like their special treat too...popcorn...handcranked by Mommy. Now the rain has stopped and they are headed out to play...yippee!

Lions, Tigers and Bears...Oh my!

Lachlan had the day off today so we decided to head to the Woodland Park Zoo. Kaaran and Landon joined us. It ended up being a very nice day! The kids had a ball too...nothing like 3 happy boys!

A few fall pictures

The other day I took the boys to collect leaves, and we worked on these leaf collages. Cohen was into this year which made it really fun. The last picture is of Lachlan after he got to have lunch with the principle at school. The reason was he did the most laps in his class for the school walk-a-thon-42 laps in an hour!

12 Wonderful Years!

Tomorrow is our 12th anniversary. It is hard to believe it has been that long...seems like the blink of an eye. Last night my niece Madeline babysat the boys and we went out. We tried a new restaurant in Anacortes called the Star Bar. It was very good. Drew had scallops for an appetizer, and I had a salad. For entrees Drew had the beef short ribs and I had the tenderloin. We both had vanilla creme brulee for dessert. It was so nice to hold a conversation with no little boys chiming in. We hope for another 50 years!

Family Time

We went to visit Drew's Grandma and Grandpa and his uncle Ed and his wife Nan. It was so good to see them as it has been 10 years! They seem to be doing well, and we would have loved more time to visit. More of the family stopped by many of whom I have never met. It was a nice time.
