Pink is for Sissies!

We found out today that we are having another boy! Another Boyd boy to add to the mix should be interesting...don't you think? We do make wonderful boys! I know all of you were hoping for a little pink girl but no can do. I always knew we would only have boys! I had a moment of "oh...3 boys...what to do" but it has passed. The most important thing is he looks really healthy and perfect. Another great thing is we don't need a thing except diapers (can you grow those?). I will try to post some pictures when I get to a scanner because he is really cute! The boys are very excited to have a brother too. Actually, Lachlan wanted a brother and sister but he is happy with another brother. By the way, this is our last baby so no "maybe the next one will be a girl"!

Loungin' at the Island

Another wonderful few days on the island were had again. Drew and Lach got up early every morning and went skateboarding at one of the best skate parks in the U.S. We did some hiking up at the lake, spent an afternoon on West Beach, walked to town everyday and enjoyed some very yummy food! On Friday night our neighbors, Mike and Mary, invited us to take a look at their plane as Mike came in from working in Seattle as a commercial pilot. I think it made Lachlan's year! He still wants to be a pilot, and now he is naming the types of planes he is going to have. I think Mike is going to have to answer a lot of questions in the coming years. Lach has decided he is going to pilot the new Dreamliner!

Do you see the little face peaking out from the passenger window? You might have to enlarge to see.

Back to the beginning!

This is where we were married. Now 2.5 children later! Do the kids ever sit still for pictures? Here I am just over 18 weeks pregnant.

The kids were really into the rides at Silverwood. I love the one of them in the airplane. Lachlan wants to be a pilot and he wants Cohen to be his co-pilot-their first flight!

Well since the weather was just horrible this last weekend we got a wild hair and headed over to Coeur d'Alene. It was a long drive (6 hours) but worth it. The boys were great in the car and we stayed two nights. It was 100 degrees and beautiful. We went to Silverwood water and theme park and to the Coeur d'Alene Resort where we were married almost 12 years ago. It was a fun little get away and we would like to spend more time in that area.

Rain, Rain, go away!

It is really quite hard to believe that it is July 20th! The weatherman is saying this is extremely rare weather for this time of year. It is pouring rain....just pouring. It also rained like this 2 days ago. Very dreary.
On a happy note I had my 18 week appt with the midwife today. It was a fun appt because we went over a lot. It was very fun to talk about the coming ultrasound, planning for the birth etc. I gained 2 lbs. which she was really happy about. With the boys I had gained 4-5 lbs by this time...smile. We also talked a lot about my diet and trying to keep the baby on the average size. We are hoping 7-9 lbs. Basicially this just means very few carbs come the 3rd trimester. Protein and fat are very important but bigger babies tend to really pack it on if Mommy is eating carbs. So I am going to start adjusting now. The baby is measuring right on target at 18 weeks and was nice enough to kick the doppler when she put it on my tummy. I am getting more and more excited about this little one as time goes on. Have I mentioned I am no longer changing any diapers? I am really enjoying this. Cohen has also been dry at night and naps for over a week! Ultrasound is in about 10 days!

I hope everyone else who is in this part of the world is surviving this wonderful weather!
I just took this picture from where I am sitting. You might not be able to tell it is raining but you can see it isn't sunny!

Another project done

This is where our pool used to be. For a year it was a huge sandbox for the kids (they will really miss it). We were bound and determined to get the patio done this summer because I was getting SOOOOO tired of cleaning up sand...a little is okay but clogging up the filter of the dryer from the kids clothes was getting a little old. So after debating what to do we decided on flagstones with polymeric sand. Drew did a wonderful job of placing and leveling all the stones, and I think it turned out better than we expected. We decided to put the fireplace in the corner and it should be really fun on summer evenings. Now we just need a table and some chairs...anyone know of any great sales?

Fruit for our labor!

While not all the garden is ready the majority is. We are enjoying lettuce, spinach, beets, radishes, carrots, raspberries, strawberries, zuchinni and crookneck squash, potatoes, onions and peas. There is nothing better than being able to go out and pick a bowl for of raspberries and enjoy it with a little cream! The kids just love helping me dig in the dirt, and I can use all the help I can get with the weeding!

Hooray for Cohen!

I just wanted to share that Cohen is potty trained! Yipee! I actually get about 5 months free from diapers before the baby comes! After being dry all weekend last week we went Monday and he got to pick out his own underpants. He picked Lightening McQueen and is quite proud of himself! I declined putting any embarrassing pictures of him in his new undies, however! It is especially easy training in the summer when they are always outside!

Drew is 32!

It wasn't just America's Birthday. Drew turned 32 on the 4th. I made him his favorite coconut cake.

Lazy days on Orcas

The girls swam all the way to the island behind them!
Lach-"Mom did you know cotton candy is made from hair"?

Notice Mt. Baker in the background. This is the view from the cabin.

We spent most of last week on Orcas. It was really beautiful weather! I took loads of pictures but these were my favorite.
